  Yesterday morning, the international conference on artificial intelligence and education jointly organized by China and UNESCO opened, and Minister of Education Chen Baosheng made a keynote speech at the conference. Chen Baosheng mentioned that China will start to build more than 10 "smart education demonstration zones" by the end of 2020. At the same time, it is planned to establish 50 artificial intelligence colleges, research institutes or interdisciplinary research centers by 2020 to cultivate artificial intelligence innovation research teams and specialized senior talents.   He said that in primary and secondary schools, courses related to artificial intelligence are set up to promote universal education; In vocational colleges, improve the construction of big data, artificial intelligence related majors and courses, and cultivate technical and technical talents; In colleges and universities, we should lay out disciplines and professional systems related to artificial intelligence, explore the training mode of "artificial intelligence +X", promote the construction of 100 national virtual simulation experiment teaching centers, and strengthen the training of compound and applied talents.

  Chen Baosheng mentioned that China is building a number of intelligent classrooms in Beijing Foreign Studies University to improve teachers’ abilities of teaching diagnosis and accurate teaching and research in an intelligent environment. At the same time, an "Internet+Education" demonstration zone will be established in Ningxia, and more than 10 "Smart Education Demonstration Zones" will be started before the end of 2020, giving priority to the practical exploration of the integration and innovation of artificial intelligence and education, accumulating advanced experiences and excellent cases that can be popularized, and leading the educational reform in the intelligent age.

  In terms of providing high-level teacher support for the development of artificial intelligence education, Chen Baosheng mentioned that it will provide support for teachers’ intelligent teaching by collecting and mining big data from the whole process of teachers’ teaching, scientific research and management.
